My three year-old RCA RP8070 5-disk player
is not responding.

It powers up OK, and the display says "CD".
But it won't open, play, or respond in any
way to any button other than Off/On.

Opened it up and don't see any mechanical
problems or jams. One CD is in the player,
but it doesn't spin when powered.

Any ideas?

check to make sure you don't have a jammed CD tray..
other wise you have CPU or power supply problems.

Had a friend over last night who helped fix it. The plastic wheel
that raises/lowers the CD reader was stuck. Unstuck it and it
came back to life! Thanks.
