Hi,
Was just wondering what ICs anyone would recommend for driving a 12v motor
1-2amps? Im quite inexperienced at DC motor control and need to set speed
from a PIC. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Kieran

I'd use pulse width modulation from the PIC to drive a logic-level FET
(assuming the PIC is running on 5V) and put a flywheel diode across the
motor. Choose a FET with a low RDSon at Vgs < 5V for example IRL3103 and
you won't need a heatsink on it. The diode needs to be able to handle in
excess of 2A.
