So now they put together a chimera that expresses Omicron S-protein spikes. A mortality of only 80% seems like a step up for the mice. More importantly, the chimeric virus will not evade vaccine induced immunity of the latest Pfizer bivalent vaccine- mainly because it is specific to the Omicron S-protein. And it will not evade Omicron infection induced immunity for at least six months.

I scanned the paper quickly, did not study it, but looking at the section highlights it looks fundamental. They were mainly focused on pathogenicity and what effect the various mutational changes have.

And the paper loses epidemiological relevance by failing to investigate the transmissibility of it all. And that\'s in line with their basic research, which was not to produce a lethal new strain- which they did by accident- lethal to highly susceptible mice.

Do you see how Russia Today has made a fool out of you?

There is no such investigation. NIAID is responding to political hysteria over possible government funding of gain-of-function research, so they want clarification from the BU research group. It\'s an administrative issue, and nobody has called in the FBI to confiscate all their records, equipment and lab samples.

You can\'t understand anything you read, which is not surprising since you\'re just as likely to believe aliens at BU did it.
