Customization of the VIVA plots

Hello all,

In VIVA, is it possible to change the background color of the call out box of the marker (appearing in black)? I tried checking the VIVA documentation, but found nothing.

Also, I have set the line style to solid using the following command.

envSetVal("viva.trace" "lineStyle" 'string "solid")

It works for the figures created by the expressions (like gain, phase etc) but not with the transient plots. All transient plots are still appearing in the dotted lines.

Please let me know what I should do to get these things fixed.

Thanks and Best Regards

No, it's not possible (yet).

For signals plotted using ADE, ADE controls the colours and line styles
(using the definitions of the y0-y9 drawing layers) - this is so that
the wires are cross-probed on the schematic using the same colour and
linestyle that they are plotted with on the graph; so in this case it
does not yse the lineStyle preference.

Andrew.

Dear Andrew,

Thanks for your reply and the details.
In the second case, is there any other alternative to change the ADE setup? Dotted plot in the white background does not appear good and I waste a lot of time in changing the style manually. I have to plot at least 30 plots a day with lot of corner runs etc.

Also, another problem is no support to vector format compatible to windows. I have to save the plots in svg and then use windows tool to convert it to emf or something. Is there any alternative? I don't want png or jpg as the resolution is not good :)

Best Regards
DC

You can save as eps or pdf. The odf format can be imported in word and powerpoint directly in Office 2007 tools.

Unfortunately Microsoft tools are rather lacking in support for portable
standards such as SVG.

As for the line styles, you should be able to fix your display.drf to
correct the dotted lines etc.

Andrew.
