Currency checker led - safe to look at?

This led gadget really lights up the dials of a bunch of engine gauges that
are going in a car - must be luminous paint and UV.

Some (all?) UV is bad for they eyes, though.

Would there be a safe way to use UV led's to illuminate these dials?
