CTX VL400 Monitor, dead after lightning

I got this one in and i´m a bit puzzled.
The owner told me the monitor died last night in a
thunderstorm.
Yet, when i turn on, i hear a high pitched whine, led is
on.
I checked the usual parts in the primary power supply,
and found nothing, all voltage regulators, diodes... seem
to be fine.
I would not expect a secundary failure from lightning,
or...?
The guy´s pc was hit as well, but the damage there was
the harddisk, not the power supply.
Weird.
Any suggestions what this could be?

check the EHT transistor, see if its shorted
if so replace it, and before you do, check the
voltage at its collecter pin it should be 100-130 volts.
if not your power supply is sus.
only check the voltage with the transistor out.
you can also connect a light globe 240volt at 100 watt
to the collector pin and ground to test power supply
it will only be half brite or so.
