Can anyone look up repair tips for RCA CTC169AC at Repair
World,Winstip,Euras,Repair Helper,NESDA,RCA's fix finder software and
any other software for a volume & audio problem for the unit
below?.Thanks.

27" Sears (Canada) stereo tv with S-VHS input,2 sets of RCA inputs,1
set of RCA outputs and a built in amp,model:14260,Sears Canada
Chassis:C543-50920,RCA chassis:CTC169AC,year:Oct 1990.
There is no movie audio (there is but it is very low),there is only no
station(like unplugging the cable from tuner)loud noise (squelch)to
isolate the problem I used the RCA output jacks and connected it to my
commodore 64 video monitor and the problem was still there I also
connected a vcr to both inputs 1 & 2 and problem was still there. The
OSD volume bar graph moves linearly but there are only two settings
for the volume:loud and very loud, again there is only very loud noise
audio not station audio.
I could not find any common repair tips for this chassis with this
problem, anyone know what the culprit is?.
This tv uses U1600=MOS digital stereo processor IC=RCA #
250032=Mitsubishi # M50573P (24 pin DIP IC)
Thanks in advance for responses.

Note this chassis has a seperate audio board and a seperate tuner.

Interesting, I have yet to see seperate tuners for CTC169 but for
audio, yes I know what they are.

There is three types of audio modules (ones with amps on it), analog
5W or 10W, and one is digital audio which is what you have. Even more
different slightly different amp boards to use different amp IC that
is readily available.

The digital audio processor is on that small board via two plugs. Try
another module or track down the signal loss. I bet there is a brown
goo where there is used to be a brown rubber dome bumper for that
small board to seperate board and tin cover apart.

I can stop the audio by pulling the pair of plugs for that small
board.

Also you do have schematic for that 169? Either projector or CRT is
same circuits for that audio areas.

Cheers,
