got a ctc120 with retrace lines
I haven't checked the crt yet (it's at the customers home).
Does anyone have any fixes for retrace lines except for a bad crt?
TIA

If I remember right, one half of the main filter capacitor can cause
this. I think it was 800/30uf @ 200/200v

thanks Wayne
after I posted I remembered that cap right at the back of the chassis
mounted on the metal plate it must be the 200 volt section that's bad.
I also remember that my parts suppliers were making a fortune for
that cap (around $46 if I remember right)
Thanks again Wayne

Thanks Jeff
I am going to go have a look at it this morning.
I'll have to take a 47uf 450v with me (closest I've got unless I want
to go digging around, and I don't want to )

If you find the 30uf open, part of the main filter, you might as well just bite
the bullet and replace it, because if you just parellel the bad section, the
other section will be bad in a few months, giving you that nice hourglass
picture.

I replaced the 30uf this afternoon with a 47uf 470v cap and it got rid
of the retrace. I would have replaced the 600uf cap but I didn't have
one. If the 600uf goes bad I'll order one and charge the customer
nothing, just because the customer is 71 years old and living on a
pension and is a very nice woman.

thanks for the reply Ron
