I have an NEC monitor here that displays the On Screen Display (OSD)
brightly, but the image generated from the out put of the video card to the
monitor is very dark. I tried adjusting the brightness and contrast settings
using the OSD but I can't seem to get the picture to be clear and crisp. The
current image looks as if the entire screen is covered by fog and the image
is still very dark. I'm sure its more likely a problem with an internal
component of the monitor but I'm not sure which component is at fault. The
interesting thing about this problem is that it only effects the incoming
signals from the video card to the monitor and not the OSD. I therefore
think that there is a problem with the treatment of these signals but do not
know how to correct the problem. Any information on what might be causing
what I'm experiencing and how to correct the problem would be greatly
appreciated.
