Looking for a used CRT in good shape. Set is a PTV601 chassis LXI. Tube
maker is Hitachi, part number is 330289-8.

I have a really cooked one (much worse than the RCA tube I sent), if you can't
find anything else. This is the tube that's always cracked; I think all of
Philips spares are gone by now. There was a tube rebuilder in Georgia who was
rebuilding the good envelopes. Can't remember the name, but they were in
Tucker, Ga. If you want the miserable sample I've got, you can have it for the
shipping cost.

The rebuilder you are thinking of is likely VDC. PATX in Texas rebuilds
them and are pretty reasonable, but you have to send the old one back and
have it rebuilt. The red & green tubes have a slight burn on phosphor on
this one, so it might work ok. Is the cathode in good shape? Is the
phosphor very bad? The RCA tube you sent was pretty good. If it is not too
bad send it. I'll take a shot at it and gladly pay the freight.

Thanks,

Well, it's a pull from a customer's set. The tube has "fringing" unless you
fiddle with the drive. Even then you can't run the contrast too high. It would
make a good dud though. I'll send it and you can pay me the $7.85.
