I need a simple & inexpensive timer that will log how many hrs/min/sec
a 120vac device runs in a month. hrs/minutes only may be acceptable.
Is there a device available or a simple schematic?

The standard miniature LCD totalizing timers have internal batteries (3V
lithium usually, that last about 5 to 7 years), voltage or contact input, and
remote contact/switch reset for your once a month reset. As one example, the
Red Lion 3T320 counts in 0.01 hr. increments up to 9999.99 hrs, and is
available from DigiKey as their P/N RLC3TR-32-ND for $48.00 USD.

Red Lion in particular is a good source because they will work with OEMs on
small quantity special orders if there's any sales potential there. Their
sales apps people are very helpful on getting you just the display, or whatever
associated electronics or interface circuitry you need (and I don't work for
them).

These work fine, and are an incredible improvement over the old mechanical
totalizing timers, which no one can seem to make reliably any more, and cost
about a third as much.

There are equipment hour meters for about $20 that can be wired into the
equipment you want to monitor..

Very simple and easy to install..

They are available in AC or DC..

Right now, it appears that they only have 12 vdc meters but you could check
back periodically and see if they have 120 vdc meters.

Or call them, they are always helpful..
