Hi everyone...

I want use IDE CD-ROM drive whitout PC but I don't know how to do it. I have
old Compaq 4X CD-ROM drive and it doesn't have any control buttons on it's
front panel except eject. So my vision is to control that drive via the IDE
host interface. What I have to do to use controls like play, eject, stop,
etc. I would be very happy if you could tell me how it is possible. Or maybe
you know some web site concerning this "problem". Every piece of help is
welcome!!!

This is covered in a standard called ATA/ATAPI-7 that was produced by
Technical Committee T13 for INCITS (a standards body that works for
ANSI). See http://www.t13.org

Beware, though: The standard is rather large.
