Concept Alarm Panel -> C-Bus

I have an interesting integration issue and am currently discussing it with
my security company.

What's required to interface the Concept Security panel and the Clipsal
C-Bus system? Is the Concept IQ Plus panel enough or do you need the 3000
panel? What sort of integration is there between the Concept and C-Bus
systems (ie. which side of the interface does the controlling, Concept or
C-bus)? There is a Clipsal HomeMinder system installed as well. Does this
system provide any better integration with the Concept panel?

Thanks.

Both manufacturers must have an engineering agreement.

Both won't give out their specifications without agreement.

So for the single - once off requirement of yours - i would forget it.

Clipsil will disclose C-bus to companies under mutual agreement,
were both can benfit.

one user of both systems will add zero dollar benifit to each company.

Thanks for the reply JG,

The Concept programming manual has a section for how to send commands from
the Concept panel to C-Bus group addresses, so it's not like they're trying
to hide that integration from the installer or user. What I was actually
after was the device(s) required from Concept's side (ie daughterboard,
cable etc) and Clipsal's side (eg. C-Bus PC interface) to actually get them
talking to each other. I find it hard to believe that Concept don't want
people to know how their system works with C-Bus when it is one of their
biggest advertising points on their website.

Ring the telephone number on www.innerrange.com (Inner Range is the
manufacturer of the Concept security/access control systems) and ask for
support. One of the support techs will help you. You'll need a Concept
3000/4000 panel and maybe a UART card from the Concept end. I'm not sure
what you need at the C-Bus end, but the support techs will.

Cheers,
Alf

Thanks Alf,

I rang inner range but their support dudes are off until Tuesday. They put
me through to Security Merchants who I'm waiting on to call me back with
some info. Clipsal believed that I need a 3000 panel (strange since the IQ
plus panel includes support for 6 C-Bus group addresses - probably all I
need) and a UART board, and also a PC-interface for C-Bus. They also told me
that the PCI is approx $500 which seems a bit steep.

They were all at work today, if you still need them.
