I\'m wondering that too. My build quantities are in the dozens to hundreds, which is right in the region of maximum pain. I\'ve done about fifty PCB redesigns since the shortage started, replacing chips with stuff I can find. And I bulk-bought some essential stuff early on, but that\'s all running out. With great difficulty.
In some cases, we are ordering parts from what we can find on stock,
then starting the design when the devices arrive physically.
It\'s a real disaster for the industry. The manufacturers can\'t even
ramp up their production, because the people that make the production
machines can\'t get the parts for the control electronics.

I remember flying from Barcelona in Spain back to Amsterdam the Netherlands.
About 15 minutes after takeoff I heard the alarm come on in the cockpit
Engine on fire..
We circled above the ocean to get rid of fuel and landed safely, I thanked the captain for nice job done.
IIRC some people applauded...
Should not have boarded the f*cking plane as I did see a pool of fluid under that engine before takeoff
was thinking \'will not be oil, they must have checked that\'.
When home later on an other flight I called the local paper and reported it, they then did an article on airplane maintenance,
Captain should at least look at what he boards and is going to fly.
Never been to Puerto Rico...
That was in the days of Bil Clignon and Monica, was just reading that article when that alarm came on.
Can they still get spare parts for those Puerto flights?
