Compiled model interface (cmi) installation

Hi,

I use the design framework IC5.033 and want to install the cmi. As I
know, I have to execute the script cmiExtract which should be located
in the .../tools/spectre/bin folder. But in this folder I can't find
this script. Do I have to install further software packages?

You need to have product 32501 (Virtuoso(R) Spectre Model Interface Option) and
then obtain the documentation and CMI kits from Cadence. These are not shipped
in the installation, because CMI has special support requirements (it's not a
normal product).

Why are you trying to use CMI, BTW?

Hi Andrew,

thanks for your reply.
As a member of Europractice we obtain this licence feature.
At the moment we extended the existing simulation models to
approximate the breakdown behavior. It works, but the simulation time
is increased due to the higher number of devices. I thought, if I
combine the devices for the breakdown modelling into one model (using
CMI), there is an advantage in simulation time. Is this correct?

Yes, but it's a lot of work...

You'll need to contact Europractice support at RAL to get the information, who
in turn will contact us in the UK.
