Hi all,

I'm thinking of buying this cute scope. Has anyone in this group bought
this? What do U all think of it?

I'm basically a hobbyist. working with simple analog ccts and ATMEL AVR
sereis uCs.

Had anyone had any problem working only with a single channel? I really
prefer to have two, but I can't go for a APS230 - too expensive

Anyone has any idea on other similar products less than $300?

I bought the HHS5. I consider it to be $20 wasted. Biggest drawback,
aside from pitiful bandwidth, is no pretrigger memory. This renders a
DSO pretty much useless for most of the stuff you want a DSO for.

Make sure the version you buy has pretrigger memory and sufficient
bandwidth. Can't tell from the website, but the downloadable manual
might say.

12MHz bandwidth is too low for digital work. And if you really care to
see what the trace looks like, you'll find 1.2 is more realistic.

For general hobby use, you'd be much better off with a $20 garage sale
or swapmeet analog scope. Find yourself a ham radio club. Go to a meeting.
Ask a bunch of people for advice. Hams typically have more than one
spare scope. If we have an earthquake, I'll probably be killed by spare
scopes. I've got one for sale at the link in the sig, but it's out of
your price range.
