I've tried to wire my PowerColor 9200 VIVO monitor output of my PC to
RGB SCART
as described on http://www.idiots.org.uk/vga_rgb_scart/ but the TV is
missing blue in places and pink where it should be white in the middle
of the screen. I emailed the author, but he didn't have a clue!

I've completely re-wired using an old scart to scart cable but I still
have the same problem. If run Write maximized which is basically a
screen of white, the middle is pink and the top is light green - it's
as if a magnet's been put too close to the screen.

I then tried a 14" Sony TV and it worked without the problem. Great
colour. So it's a problem with my Widescreen TV. I'm using Sky thru
AV1 RGB without any problem with colour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David.

What does it look like with a normal video image on the tv from
another source/input?

I would bet from the description, either the tube has been magnetized
or dropped and the aperature grill is damaged inside the tube. If the
discoloration were in a circle pattern, possibly a degauss solder
connection problem.

I have a Sky STB and a DVD player daisy-chained to AV1 RGB and they
don't display the colour problem - it only occurs when I use the cable
I made plugged into the monitor socket of the PC. The problem is
difficult to explain exactly as it depends what colours are on the
screen & where. I used a screen of white (using the Write application)
and 3/4 of the screen is a light pink and the top 1/4 is a light
green. If I watch a video using the PC & cable, people's faces are
yellow and other colours aren't right - it's more of a problem when
the screen is displaying bright colours, it's not so noticeible with
dark colours, if at all.

HOWEVER - using another TV - a 14" Sony KV14LM1U - there is none of
the above problem using the same cable & PC. That's what confuses me!

Thanks,
David.
