And for those of us not in the know, it is... ?

I gather from http://www.qsl.net/g4ftc/decca/antenna/home.htm that a coil
house was part of an RF transmitter installation at one time; although, I've
never seen anything like this at the commercial FM transmitter sites I've
worked at.

shared family retreat house in Julian, CA, got caught by the recent

Too bad! No transmitters in the story, then, but perhaps a pint or two of
