I've got an old WinSystems PC-104 board with an add-on VGA module that
I got from work (they were throwing it out) that I was wanting to toy
around with. The VGA module has a Cirrus Logic CL-GD5424 chip on it,
which I can't seem to find any information on. I was wondering if
anyone knew anything about this chip. In particular, there's an EPROM
on the module that has what I assume to be the VGA BIOS code in it (I
think I saw some ASCII in the file that said something to that
effect). I was kind of interested in disassembling the BIOS code
(assuming that's what it is), just for educational purposes - to maybe
get an idea of what it's actually doing, but I don't know what kind of
instructions this Cirrus chip would use.
I may be totally off in my assumptions, as I have no experience with
graphics cards and what not, but I'm just curious to get an idea of
how this thing might work. I can't find anything on Google about the
chip, nor on Cirrus's website. Anyway, thanks for any help.
