changing instance property does't affect the auLvs view para

hi there.

i'm using layoutPlus and have trouble with extractor. the problem is if i
change the W, L and value of the instance, the change i make won't reflect
the netlist which LVS outputs. i think the cause is, if i change the
properties of Layout View on 'edit instance properties' window, that
doesn't reflect on the auLvs view. if i'm right, how can i change the
auLvs view property simultaneously? so long as i can't solve this problem,
i will keep on watching the lvs result which says "the netlists match
logically but have mismatched parameters"

please help me.

Does the schematic and layout match interms of the paramters?
Please double check that.
LVS, basically extracts the layout and builds a netlist out of it, and
does the same for the schematic and compares the two netlists.
So I am inclined to think that the changes you made for parameters were
not made at both the ends?

Also you can use vldbToVnl on the *.lnn( layout netlist) or the *.snn (
schematic net list) to se what assura ( is that the LVS tool?) is
comparing with and against

hi.

thank you for the reply.
i checked and compared 2 netlists and they were different form each other.
netlist from schematics lists the right value but the other one from the
layout lists wrong values, which were the default values (example
R1=100ohm W: 4, l: 5, instead i changed the value to R1=150ohm W2.4, l:6)
whem dpositing the Pcell on the layout screen. (i'm using 'Virtuoso' not
'Assura')

do you think is there a chance that 'extractor' file might be wrong ?

thanks.

This is most likely a problem of the extractor. I am assuming here you
are using Diva. You can do this to troubleshoot
1) place a transistor with (w=1u and l=1u)
2) extract (use appropriate switches if necessary)
3) open extracted view and select the instance
4) look on the properties of the instance you should find w=1u and l=1u
5) if w and l are not present or different that the problem is in the
extraction deck.
6) depending on your experience you may want to debug it or ask here
again or contact the supplier of the deck.

hi.

thanks A.B. for the reply.
i followed your advice and found that the property of extracted instance
had different value from what i had expected. that is, the extractor
didn't extract the value i changed.
(i didn't use switches 'coz i didn't know how to)

i don't use Diva insted i use the original one from the supplier.
i'm a novice and hard to debug the extractor file by myself. so, if it is
not difficult and if someone tell me how to, i want to give it a try.
becuase of an NDA, i can't post the extractor file here.

would you give me some more suggenstion please?
