changing annotation without write access?

Often times when I run an operating point analysis and want to annotate
the operating point to the schematic, I want to change the component
display to show a different set of parameters. However, it is
_extremely_ annoying that I have to check out the cell (maybe not even
one that I'm the designer of) to just change how my sim results look.

Can I change the component display without checking out and opening a
cell in write mode?

If you set your base cdf paramDisplayMode or termDisplayMode to 'not
set' you won't need to have edit permissions to backannotate. They are
aware of this issue.
