Change TFT, different resolution

Hi, I have a little Toshiba Libretto 100CT with a broken TFT. I also have a
couple of bigger TFTs. Now I wonder: Could it be possible to change to
another TFT with different (higher) resolution. Could it be possible to get
a different resolution from the Libretto Graphic System (Neomagic 128XD)?
Normal resolution for the TFT is the strange 800 x 480. It is capable of
running external display too though, at 640x480, 800x600, 1024x768.
If that is not working, how would a different TFT (800 x 600) react to a 800
x 480 signal?

Best Regards,
Munken

The TFT has to exactly match to the interface of the machine. You can
simply swap them!

I think you mean you *can't* simply swap them. As Jerry says, the display
needs to be matched to the firmware in the graphics controller, there's no
easy way to replace it with anything but an exact replacement original. You
could sell the machine on ebay though, or look for another one that has a
dead motherboard but a good display.

Ok, thanks for the info!

You have me right. I meant that they cannot be simply swapped.

Thanks for the correction!
