cfl inverter revisited

No cfl inverter kits at either Jaycar or Dick Smith on the Gold Coast.

Might as well go back to living in the bush, extracting the knife from
my back (missus attack).
Jaycar were 'out of stock' and Dick Smith don't appear to list it.
Looks like mail order is the go but who is the best these days, used
to buy from Altronics.

Slap me for not looking first, thwack!!. It appears this kit is

exclusive to Oatley. Correct me if I'm wrong. I am interested to know
what transformer they are using. It seems this is the only part that
is not common and easily obtainable. It wouldn't be too hard to design
another circuit board for an electrically different transformer if one
was equivalent.
Hmmm is electrically the right word???
