CDR writer problem CR-4802TE

I have had this writer for several years now & now I finally can't
write a full disc over 145 meg at a time.

All I get is buffer underrun error no matter what software I use.
It can copy discs ok , it just can't write a session over 145meg in
size.

Any thoughts ?

Sounds like the Worm Gear that moves the Sled needs oiling. This is a common
problem all CDRW's will exhibit from time to time. I think its because of
the number of times it moves during a typical writing....probably sees a lot
of action.

There was a Web Page on it for the Ricoh Drive I had which I fixed myself
Recently. Lemee seeif I can Find it...
