HI, Jaycar have a few kits,
I have a timer on my turbo, and in reality you don't need one.
Most turbos these days and the types of oils they all get on well, unlike
the older days..
You use your common sense, like if you have been up it, don't just pull
over and turn the motor off..
Same if you have been on a long trip, just wait a couple of minutes in the
car with the motor running.

Silicon Chip described a simple turbo timer back in Nov 98 and Jaycar
still stock the kit for it KC5254 ($29.95).

If you can wait for a couple of months they will also have their new
intelligent timer out.

Exactly right. And they're a pest - I just bought a used turbo with a timer
useless & annoying. My last turbo car was sold with 200,000km on it and the
turbo was fine, I always drove the last few minutes of a trip quietly.
That's all it takes.
If you want to know how hot the turbo is, install an exhaust temp gauge.
