What do people have in the add on electronics device area?

We've just take delivery of a new vehicle that "networks' via bluetooth
and USB; aka icons in smartphone manual indicate ipod, apple car play,
android auto, windows media, dts neural surround, dokby volume, PremiDIa,
Digital Radio, HDMI, and Bluetooth. HoHum for marketing BS.

Has anyone cracked/hacked these services to roll their own devices. It
would be good to use the in car display screen, rather than mount
something else.

We do carry a smartphone when travelling for emergencies, but since it is
android and thus parasited by Google, we do not want to use it through
the vehicle.

Priority is maps through openstreetmap and if anyone has rolled their
own, I'd be interested in how they have done it.

I'd love to have cameras at all 4 corners of the car for more convenient
parking in tight spaces but havent got around to do that yet. With those
used as dashcams when not using them for parking and invisible so

I keep telling myself it makes no sense to be buying a new car
to get that stuff and a cruise control instead of the 12 year old
car that doesn’t have any of that stuff, but I have also realised
that I wont get even close to spending all the pile of cash
I have accumulated and it makes no sense to leave that
to anyone instead of spending it on toys for myself.

I carry a smartphone all the time and use it for a hell of
a lot more than just emergencys. By far the best satnav
around, very handy to check petrol prices and when
places will be open and I pay for everything with it now.;

Yes it does except mine keeps stopping mid drive and I have to restart
it, don't know if it is because I live near a city.

and if anyone has rolled their own, I'd
be interested in how they have done it.

You don't have to "leave" it to anyone, send some my way now and help

Mine never does on iphones.
