Hallo,
I bought car together with radio (Blaupunkt - CAR300 - mounted in
Opel's cars). I have problem because I forgot to ask about code for
this radio. This is big problem because I live in Poland and I bought
car in Germany :-(
Could anyone help me to decode this radio, please? I need informations
like: where code is placed in memory. How I can change it. Coulde
anyone send me service manual for this radio?
BTW. Sorry for my English bugs. I'm beginner.

You have a problem. The radio has to be sent to the authorized dealer to
have the ROM changed with one that they know the code. They also have to do
some download programming to activate it. They do this to prevent theft of
these radios. When the radio is brought to the dealer the customer must
show proper identification and proof that he is the owner. Only the
authorized service dealer can do this for these radios. The manufacture
keeps this very restricted by international agreement.

Your only solution without all of this is to contact the person who sold you
the radio and get the code if he knows it, or to call the dealer for your
make of radio, and make arrangements to have them re-activate it, as
mentioned above.

I really have to wonder if this does anything to prevent theft, I mean is
someone who breaks into a car to steal the stock radio gonna know if it
needs a code or not? I'm guessing the average is a stupid teenager or a
drunk vagrant trying to get a few dollars to buy more liquor. There's plenty
of nice aftermarket units out there that are much more valuable.

Hi,
Find someone in your area that repairs these radios
and go to them, they should be able to do it correctly.
Or possiably an Opel dealer if it is an OEM unit they
can look up the code by Vin or SN.
