Hi all,
I have one of these printers that refuses to feed paper into the printer and
then comes up with an out of paper error. Is this a common problem and is
there a simple fix.

Many Thanks
Ian

Check in the bottom where the paper feeds in and make sure nothing has
fallen in there.
Cheers

Dont know about canon - but an EPSON 740 I had about 4 years ago would
act like this if there was a jam or such - even after it appeared to
be cleared.

There is likely a sensor of some kind in there that detects stuck
paper (somehow) and it may be stuck closed (if a switch) and need to
be freed

also possible that the printer might need to somehow be reset to clear
the error - either through the computer or itself

maybe run through its test menu (ie - clean / align print head / test
etc) this might force it to work
