Guys I have to tell you about this,

On my 2 GHz when I go to open a PDF file Adobe reader opens it so slow, good
logo on the way but slow, then when I go to close it down I beginning to
think my computer is going to have a heart attack.

This opens so fast you will never see any logo, most likely you will get
whip lush instead, when it stops loading.

You can turn off the logo in Acroreader easily enough.

Why does it have the same icon set and interface as Acrobat Reader? Did
they steal these objects from Adobe, or do they simply use the Acrobat
control internally?

Thanks! I finally have a usable PDF reader for my Win98 socket 7
Internet PC. Adobe's reader was a dog.

Why would you want to turn the start up logo off?
It least you know Adobe reader is starting up and the computer has not
frozen up.

i agree, adobe acrobat is a shocking program, used to be v-e-r-r-y slow
to print.

Both of the Adobe products I've used (Acrobat reader and Photoshop) are
real slow to start up.

Photoshop pulls focus to its own window about 3 times as it does its
various startup things, which is bloody annoying when you're trying to
get something done in another window in the meantime! Are they afraid
we'll miss the opening credits?

The splash screen is a waste of time...pure advertising. One can see the
Adobe reader
is launching because the program redraws the screen.

**** Go tofileforum.betanews.com/detail.php3?fid=1069854583 and download the
freeware Adobe Reader Speedup.

You will be impressed with the increase in the loading time of Adobe (albeit
some of the rarely used plugins will stop working)

I've found the newer Acrobat Reader 7 is noticably faster than 6
