Can I update directly from a base release to a USR3 release, or do I have to
apply USR1 and USR2 first??

Thanks!

All releases, even hotfixes, are complete. Cadence does not do
incremental releases, at least for DFII. You can install any release to
a clean machine and it will work.

This may change in the future.

Ed,

Actually that's not quite true. You need to have the Base and the USR or ISR. In
other words, a USR or ISR is not fully self-contained (if installed from CD
images) but is an incremental update to the Base CD.

However, it is not necessary to apply all intervening updates to get to a final
update - you can update the Base release to whichever USR or ISR you actually
want to use (this is probably what Ed really meant).

Also, if installing an ISR/USR via InstallScape in a clean area, it sensibly
installs the appropriate kits (the pieces) from either the Base or ISR/USR as
needed.

Regards,

Andrew.
