Hi all

Can anyone tell me if it is worth trying to rebuild a Compaq 2851 12V
computer battery pack. It has 10 A size Ni-Metal Hydride batteries several
sensors and a thermal fuse and a control board inside. It looks like I'd
need a spot welder !

Yes, it's worth it if you have a source of "compatible cells" (not to be
confused with cells that "look the same") at well below distributor price
and a spot welder
and can figure out how to get it turned back on when you're done.

I just rebuilt a lithium pack from an Armada 7770DMT and have yet to
figure out how to get it restarted. Ditto for an IBM Thinkpad 600e pack.
Any processor reset info would be appreciated.
