Can I make a STD ATX PSU quiet.....?

If I fitted a quieter fan to my standard PSU
would this be just as effective (with regard to noise level)
as a special build one ?
e.g: QTechnology units.
If so,can anyone recommend a suitable fan.

You may try by disassembling the psu and replacing the internal fan with a
one rated for the same air flow but producing quieter operations. There are
suppliers that make some nice 4" and smaller fans that are almost "whisper
quiet". Maybe a Google search for quiet or whisper fans will turn up a
device that will accommodate your design requirements.
