I am following up on my earlier message dated Fri, 16 Jan 2004 16:32:06
GMT which was

" We are having difficulty installing Cadence 5.0 on Redhat Linux 9.0.
Cadence recomments 7.2 but we have hardware issues with 7.2.
Has anybody got it to work on 9.0 ? "

Here is the error message I am getting.
"Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno, h_errno or _res
directly. Needs to be fixed."

Has anybody seen this problem and is there a way to overcome this in
Redhat 9.0 ?

Thanks,

Nathan

Normally, this message should NOT prevent you from installing nor
from using the software. If you cannot install it, it is because
of other problems and not because of the warning that you getting.

Unless Cadence compile it in the 9 env, you'd always see this message.
You just ignore it and go ahead. Other work around has been already
suggested to you.

Thanks for you suggestions. I am able to run Cadence although the error
message still exists.
Like you said it does not seem to affect the program itself. I have only
tested it in the read mode so far.
FYI
I tried setenv LD_ASSUME_KERNEL 2.4.1 and LANG C. That did not help.

To get help, you'd tell us what error message you are getting or what is not
working exactly. Just describe what you're doing and cut and paste the
errors.
