Hello all especially Andrew,

My virtuso layout window is taking lot of time around 20 seconds for
operations like descending to instances(shift+x)
and also for shiift+b(Coming up to the hierarchy), it's also slow for
make editable and make read only.
And all other operations like copy , creation, moving are fast.
What could be the reason for this.
Regards,
Sridhar.

In that case I don't know the reason. Maybe some licensing checks are taking a
long time, or it might be design management related (are you using DM?)

Anyway, best is to contact Cadence Customer Support, I think.

Regards,

Andrew.

Three main possibilities. One is a delay in accessing licenses, another is
file system access is slow, and the third is the design management system is
slow.

The first thing to look at is if the libraries are being accessed from a file
server or are otherwise not local on your computer. If so the file server
could be responding slowly, or the network could be slow.

Thanks Andrew and Pete Zakel for your help.
The problem has been solved when the license sever is rebooted.
