Cadence and KDE

Guest
I am having problems within cadence where when you have multiple
windows open from say the layout window, you have them in the back
ground and click on one window they all come to the foreground. Now I
tried to minimize some of the windows but the minimize button was
greyed out. I have another group who still uses kde version that ships
with redhat ws3 and they don't see this problem. any ideas of where it
might be?

I saw the same behaviour on a sun ultra 60 with kde 3.3.2, so that's why I
had to use CDE 1.4 to get the windows right. It is so far only tools from
cadence that cause this kind of 'misbeaviour'.

I use KDE 3.3.2 on a RH Enterprise 3 workstation (dual-head), and haven't seen
this type of problem (I mainly use Virtuoso Layout Editor). Which versions of
which tools are you seeing the problem with, and what is your desktop
environment (version of kde and distribution, since you say this doesn't happen
on RHWS3)?

Thanks,
Graeme.

In my case it is pretty difficult to say what the cause is because we run in
a grid environment. The problem was in VirtuosoXL when the internal editor
window was active. It used to pop up to the front with the confirmation
dialogs. I'll see if I can manage to recreate the incidents, but we have
got new thin-client servers lately.
