Has anyone used this online service <http://buy.microchip.com/> (UK
preferably?)? What do they charge for delivery?

I've used it several times for devices that are hard to buy in small
quantities in the UK. Can't remember what the delivery charges were but
I had to pay duty and VAT as well to UPS, which increases the cost
considerably.

I'd only use it for devices you can't get from the usual sources like
Farnell.

I've used them several times, both for devtools and volume parts (1K). For parts they were the
cheapest I found anywhere including from a dodgy broker.

If you tell Buy.Microchip you are in the UK , prices quoted include all duties and you are invoiced
in GBP with VAT included so no surprises.
The delivery charge is shown on the final page of the order process.

For hard-to-get bits, look at Digikey as well (uk.digikey.com)- they now do free deliver to UK for
orders >Ł100
Mouser are also quite good - ISTR delivery charges weren't too bad & the courier 'forgot' to collect
the VAT & Duty!
