Buffer?

Dear Friends,
I had one doubt why do we are adding buffer cells in datapath to meet
timimg?
(I thought)As a buffer is inturn again made up of two inverters ,cant
it further add some delay to the original delay .
Or is this buffer having insignificant delay ?

I am confused ...
can you clarify me pla...

Multiple possibilities -
1. Probably to meet hold time specifications
2. Fan Out load is higher, Driver strength not enough so buffer is
needed
