No, they are doing quite well developing robots like this for a lot of applications where one would send a robot instead of a human, for example maintenance/mfg lines where one is required to lift very heavy objects or to do some work in the presence of toxic gases, or radiation environments. The military has funded a lot of work in exoskeletons and have been showing interest in these sorts of robots. The control algorithms in these things are really amazing.
