Hi,
I dont know if anyone can help me. I have just got a Blaupunkt RTX-260c
portable 12v VHS recorder which doesnt work!

Two things really, I dont have any information on this at all. I managed
to supply 12v to it and when switched on the video head spins up, but
the front display does nothing and thats the same for all the outputs
and inputs. I assume its a power supply failure of some kind. I have
found the test points, but again I dont know what they should read, or
where to start.

Any help with where i can find infomation or a service manual would be
very welcome. Anyone who has any suggestions please let me know. Im
familar with electronics but not vcr's.

Thanks

Ed

You will need the service manuals, and to have the proper test gear to get
in to it. The very first thing is to follow up the test points in the power
supply, according to the references given in the service manual.

You may find it cheaper to give the unit out to the Blaupunkt service rep.
The service manual alone would probably cost about the same as a proper
repair.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply, I have test gear - I work with RF electronics, I
am just not familair with VCR's Its not my usual field! Before I waste
to much time on this I thought I would ask just to see if anyone has had
any experience with these VCR's and may offer me some advice that could
save me lots of blind fault finding - which I dont enjoy!
