A very strange and sad story appeared in our paper yesterday, perhaps
Jim knows more... http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6687831/

A parasite called cysticercosis (or cystercosis) may be to blame,

Scary stuff. Be sure your pork is thoroughly cooked...

While you're at it, check out the Zappicator. <groan>

It's a strange and dangerous world.

[snip]

He is (was) the CFO for Phoenix.

My daughter (Phoenix Water labs Manager) says he set the car's cruise
control before climbing out, so it was likely suicide.

He is (was) the CFO for Phoenix.
And apparently widely respected.

My daughter (Phoenix Water labs Manager) says he set the car's
cruise control before climbing out, so it was likely suicide.
So it was ruled. But if a person's ability to fully understand
the consequences of what he's doing is degraded by neurological
damage from a parasite, should that be called intentional suicide,
rather than a sad accident? No doubt his life insurance company
will seize on the suicide ruling. Very sad for the family.

Well, that what happened, but there seems to be strong evidence of
mental unbalance.

Sounds more like the kind of thing people do on LSD.

What worries me is that kept his job as PHX CFO while
"debilitated". WTF?

Yeesh.

It's a strange and dangerous world.
That it is. Try convincing Liberals that it's not political.

I formed the impression that the deterioration was rapid. A colleague of
mine began to break down through unsupportable stress over several
weeks, and we didn't notice anything significant before he flipped
entirely. But thankfully, he recovered.
