I just wondered if someone can tell me if those radio-link headphones are any
better/worse in terms of quality of sound (bandwidth) than a physical wire
connection?
Thanks

I don't know about RF, but I have a pair of Sony TMR-IF330R infrared
headphones and I consider the fidelity to be excellent.

Almost by definition worse.
However, the question is if you'll notice it.
Or even if anyone will.
Generally, you get what you pay for.

True of most things I suppose but the IR and FM ones are in a similar range to
the cable ones I've seen.

What about IR better/worse than FM (for a given price)? Also I would have
*thought* that IR ones loose the signal more easily as one moves around the
room.

I move around quite a lot and only lose signal about 5' outside my
office door (Sony IR).

I was more referring to the audio design, than range.
Skimping on drivers seems to be a common economy.

I've gone to a small FM radio (A tiny 8*1*2cm one made by sony) and a belkin
FM transmitter thingy.
Works well.
