BIG SCREEN PLASTIC COVER

I took apart the screen on my toshiba big screen to try and get some
scratches out with novus scratch remover and some black started coming of
onto the rag I was useing, what is the coating ? Can you replace the
coating? Can you buy a new screen or material to make one..

The black that is coming off, I would guess is the antiglare coating. You
cannot put this back on yourself. You can order a new screen from the parts
department of your TV set's manufacture, or they can tell you who their
local distributor is for your area. This part is generally a bit expensive.
You can try to find a used part, but it may also be scratched.
