Beckman Helipot Potentiometers

I have about 2 dozen Beckman Electronic Components Model 6351-92-0 pots.
They are new, in the box but I think they are over 20 years old. Can anyone
enlighten me as to exactly what they are. They turn continuously and very
smoothly. They also have writing on them that says CV 171 LV. I have
pictures if that will help. I got them from a relative that died about 12
years ago who owned a Marine Electronics business and was an audiophile. You
can email me at manselmo AT optonline DOT net.

TIA,
Mike

They're high-precision multiturn wirewound pots. Most common are 10
turn but there are other ones too.

They might be the bigger ones if they're that old. They are usually ten
turn, and might go for anywhere from 5 to 20 dollars on Ebay, depending
on value, etc. You didn't say what the values were, but for a power
supply, for example, a value in the 1k to 10k range is often used. They
are not much good for audio since they aren't a log taper, they're
highly linear. Look for precision potentiometer in your web search.
