BC847 (general purpose NPN SMD) - with switched Collector/Em

Hi

I have F******* up my PCB layout, mistakenly switching the collector
and emitter of a BC847 NPN BJT Transistor.

It's in a non-critical position - so does anyone know of a SMD type
NPN that has swapped collector/emitter as referred to the BC847? - in
a SOT-23 casing....

Hiya!

Can you mount it upside-down? Would that swap the E and C and leave the
B in the same place, you'd just need to bend the leads or use a bit
extra solder? Just a thought?

Well, that was my first thought too - but unfortunately the pins
swapped are on either side of the device :-(

I can swap it and just solder a short wire. But this prototype is a
one-off, and I have zero space available...

You could turn it upside down (as Klaus said) [emitter will be on the left,
base on the right and collector still up top] AND then rotate clockwise by
60 degrees. This will give collector on the right, base on the left and
emitter at the top. You will still have to bend the legs "up" on the body so
that they will touch the board once upside down.
I've had to do this in the past due to also making cockups with the layouts
on a couple of boards.

Well, I discovered that too. It actually fits quite nicely on the
pads. So no need to use wires and such.
