6v/10AH batteries.Unfortunately I did not get the charger! What is the best
way to charge these?

The original charger was probably very simple and not very good.
Probably a non regulated wall wart with something like 7.5 or 15 volts
(depending on whether the batteries were charged singly or in series)
unloaded and rated for less than .5 ampere full load. This would need
about 24 hours to fully recharge a dead battery.

Good chargers tend to have regulated maximum voltage to prevent
gassing after full charge and regulated current for lower voltages to
limit heating during charge.

Here is a course that has more than you ever wanted ot know about
rechargeable batteries.
