Bass Amp Problem

I have a Bass amp that is just out of warranty. The electronics comes on,
but no sound. The cone moves in when the power is turned on and stays in
until it is turned off. Obviously some DC is getting to it.

Question: Is the transformer the likely suspect?

Nope but need more info look at the input stage. Suspect static wiped
it out

Transformer ? Is it a valve/tube amp , or solid state ?

If it is valve, then the output transformer must be snafu for the cone to
come out. But chances are that it is a solid state amp, and the output
transistors are rooted. If it has been in 'cone in' condition for more than
a moment, there is a good chance the speaker is cooked too.
