backlight inverters for LCD monitors

Could anyone please point me in the right direction for info on backlight
inverters for LCD monitors? The kind of things that typically fail on them,
troubleshooting tips etc. any guidance much appreciated.

Usually the MOSFET's fail, but sometimes the transformers are bad too.
They're really not very expensive usually, easier to replace them when
available.
