ba301?

Hello everyone
Can someone help with the ba301 audio pre-amplifier, I need to
understand the connections. I have a sound meter diagram

http://www.gti.net/wallin/audio/rsmeter/33-2050/rs_spla.gif

I can guess some of the connections, e.g. power and gnd are
obviously 7 & 4, 2 seems to be the input and 6 the output,
but what are 1,3,4, &5. Is there a replacement chip for this
obsolete IC. What is the amplification of this IC, and can I
just use a simple op-amp instead ?

shows several places that list the BA301.

NTE 1135 is a replacement. You can get their datasheet at:

Take a look at this little cutie! ;-)

The ba301 is indeed listed, but there is no datasheet to be found.
Do you know if the NTE 1135 can be used as a replacement in an
existing design, i.e. is it compatible also in functionality, also
in pins, and also in voltage levels etc.

More than likely the NTE is a re-labeled BA301. NTE simply buys a
quantity of a comon part and has their part number put on it for repair
use. Their data is the same as the vendor they bought the part from.

Any ideas why we have a 120k resistor between pins 2 & 5
in the sound meter ? I understand that pin 5 is "bypass"
but what exactly does it mean, there are no examples how
to use it?
