*AVOID* AST-Global (astglobal-dot-com) on eBay!

Perhaps this was a warning more appropriate to the repair
newsgroup, but developers have testing phase(s), so I'll get
to the point quickly... .

I bought a unit stated as "parts only" and most of the parts
were missing or labeled bad. The unit was intentionally
photographed in such a way that made it impractical to tell,
and the bozo that owns the place told me point blank that I
was stuck with it because he paid more for it than it bid
for in the auction (think about that, they have no brains,
so you are EXPECTED to pay for any stupid business decisions
they make!).

They have a LOT of items for sale right now, and most are
going without bids, which should tell you how many people
these jerks have screwed over.

So, you can ignore this warning, but even if you
successfully bought from them before like I did a time or
two, I believe the true measure of a person is not what
happens when they are happy, but how they step up to the
plate in the face of challenge. I can assure you from my
experience (twice in one time frame), if these bozo's get to
feeling challenged, they have no morals, and they will not
think twice about screwing you. If you know anyone
potentially buying in the electronics market on eBay, do
them a favor and please warn them!

So do the negative feedback thing.

OTOH, there is always a risk involved when you buy something through
Ebay and have it send to you.

I purchased some equipment about a year ago with no problems, some old
HP gear, which arrived in working condition as advertised.

I try and avoid "parts only" sales...

Absolutely Mr. Coesel,

However, the point might be made that perhaps the risk of being taken is
a little higher if buying sight unseen from a known thief...

All in all, it looks like they are closing shop and their items on eBay
are, for the most part, not selling. Perhaps this is because most
people who might be interested in their equipment, are not interested in
doing (further?) business with them.

I hate to see anyone taken for a ride, so I posted the warning. I
reckon it should be taken for what it is worth.

Best,

Name Withheld (to avoid giving AST a legal target)

Feedback is 98.2% which isn't bad for a guy that sells surplus
and other junk.

Chicken. If you have a valid point there even isn't a
legal target for AST to chase. Go whining at your mom's place...
