Audio Sweep Generator

I'm looking to buy or build a low-cost audio frequency range sweep
generator. As a minimum, I need to be able to set the sweep end frequencies,
the sweep rate, and the sweep direction independently, and have sine and
pulse (variable duty cycle) outputs.

Any ideas or advice appreciated.

Hi, I have some Texscan SG-677/U sweep generators if they might
interest you. If so, make a offer.

Hi Mikel

Thanks for the offer.

My searching indicates that the SG-677/U is a 0.5 to 1200 MHz sweep
generator, whereas my need is for an audio frequency sweep generator,
covering say from 10Hz to 30 KHz. or thereabouts.

The best way to do it these days is with a computer sound card and software,
if you only need audio frequencies.

Google is your friend.

Do a web search via google.com or other search engine and you will
find many. Hardware or software, free or otherwise.

heres a link with a lot of SW based audio stuff:

Thanks Herbert. I'll try as you suggest. I don't believe the sound card will
do pulsed waveforms, so I'll look for a hardware solution via a search.

Why don't you believe that the soundcard can do ANY waveforms within it's
frequency range and bit resolution?
You said you were after audio range only, but maybe you expect rise times
far beyond the audio range?

There is some PC software that does this using the sound card. It's
pretty basic, but it depends on what you wanted it for. For example,
there is a public domain one called SweepGen by David Taylor.
